CercleS

As the national association representing the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, AULC is member association of CercleS – the confederation of language centres in higher education in Europe (see www.cercles.org).

Individual University members of AULC can choose to also be members of CercleS, through payment of a supplementary annual membership fee.  At present 48 AULC members are also members of CercleS. Comprised of 13 national associations representing 15countries, and with a number of individual Associate members, CercleS  has a membership of over 370 higher education institutions.  CercleS operates in a similar manner to AULC, with a core Executive Committee, and a Coordinating Committee made up of the respective presidents of the national associations.

CercleS organises a bi-annual conference, and publishes the journal Language Learning in Higher Education (LLHE), with two issues per year.  Member institutions of CercleS have free access to this journal, preferential access to the conference, the opportunity to participate in a variety of Focus Groups, workshops and webinars, and access to the members area of the CercleS website.
